Career Development Plan
Where I am now
I am currently studying RSL Acting Level 3 Diploma, A-level English Literature and A-level Film Studies. I aspire to go to an acting or drama school and to eventually have a career in on screen acting.
Where I plan to be in the future:
In the future I hope to be an actor as a full time career and star in TV and film.
SMART TARGETS
Short Term Goal (end of college)
S- For my short term goal, I want to pass all of my A-levels with grades that are above average.
M- I will make my subjects my top priority to ensure that I do the best I can.
A- This goal will become achievable if I stay motivated to keep on top of coursework and don't fall behind in any of my subjects.
R- It is a reachable goal yet it will need lots of attention and time.
T- This will be achieved by the end of year 13.
I have chosen this goal because I want to be able to stand out when I apply for acting jobs. Seeing as the acting field is highly competitive I believe this will give me an advantage and make me seem more professional to directors. To achieve this I will need to concentrate on my grades and make sure my studies are my main priority. I will dedicate a significant amount of time to further study to ensure I reach my personal best. If I achieve this goal I think it will benefit my confidence in addition to providing me with good grades.
Mid-Term Goal
S - For my mid-term goal, I want to get into an acting school.
M - I will research acting schools all across the UK to see which ones suit me.
A - This goal will become achievable if I apply to a wide variety of schools in addition to building my experience by starring in smaller projects.
R - It is reachable if I achieve a high grade in my RSL acting course and get more experience to build my CV.
T - This will be achieved after I leave Sixth Form.
I have chosen this goal because I want to be further educated on the art of acting. To achieve this I will need to stay attentive to new acting job opportunities in addition to applying to a variety of acting schools to make sure I have multiple options. To determine if I achieve this goal, I need to be confident to put myself out there for auditions and applications. If I achieve this I feel it will significantly benefit my career.
Long Term Goal
S - I will have an active part in the acting community and star in some film/TV projects.
M - I will take advantage of the experience I received from acting school in addition to other projects to build my career in the industry. Also, I will attend a variety of auditions even if they're out of my comfort zone to benefit my experience.
A - This goal will become achievable if I apply for a range of auditions, especially ones that are on screen to build my experience working with cameras.
R - It's a reachable goal if I make sure I go to acting school or at least have a large experience from past projects.
T - This will be an on going achievement for the rest of my life.
I have chosen this goal because I have a life long passion for acting. To achieve this I will have to take full advantage of past experiences, current projects and audition techniques so I can ensure I will get the roles for the parts I audition for. I will dedicate time to learning lines, searching for auditions, working on my craft in addition to having a part time job to support the payments necessary for acting.
